As you develop your timetable course listings, you will also need to schedule or request space in which they will meet. You can do this by assigning courses into space your department controls, by requesting General Assignment (GA) Classroom space from TACS, or by requesting the use of rooms that other departments control.
Use this section to guide you in the process for scheduling and requesting classroom space.

Schedule classrooms your department controls
If you wish to assign a class to a classroom space that your department controls, enter that space’s Facility ID into the Facility ID field on the Meetings Page in ISIS. Contact your department's central office if you are unsure who is in charge of scheduling your departmental space.
You may wish to create a document, such as an Excel spreadsheet, to assist you in scheduling space for classrooms that you control. This will help ensure that you do not accidentally create conflicts or double-book a room.

Request General Assignment (GA) classrooms
The Timetable and Classroom Scheduling (TACS) Office controls approximately 369 classrooms on campus, ranging in size from capacity of 15 to 593. Many of these rooms are equipped with special technology for instructional purposes. The links below provide information about GA Classrooms, their hours, and the technology available.
Review the Timeline for Assignment of General Assignment Rooms link to learn more about how to request the use of a GA Classroom in ISIS.
When communicating with your instructors, it is important to determine what special needs they have for teaching (for example, if the course format requires a seminar room, or a room with Internet access). The Room Characteristics link below provides the ISIS code translations for special facility features in GA Classrooms. Use these codes when updating ISIS to reflect instructor facility needs. To communicate special course needs that cannot be entered into ISIS, review the Use of Special Facility Request form.

Request the use of other space
In addition to TACS, other departments control space on campus. To request the use of departmentally controlled space, contact the person who schedules that space. If you do not know who schedules the space, contact the building manager.
